For as long as I’ve been natural, leave-in conditioners have been apart of my hair routine. It’s the base that can make or break your style. Leave-ins are perfect because they provide moisture to your hair, soften and detangle your strands, and prevent breakage. All of these benefits are important for natural hair, type 4 hair especially. Below are my top 5 leave-in conditioners. I have purchased these products more times than I can count, so I hope they help you on your journey!

Benefits: Claims to repair, restore, and condition your curls. This leave-in contains organic blueberry extract. Blueberries contain proanthocyanidins, which accelerate growth, and Vitamin C, which prevents breakage.

Why I Love It: The smell is amazing!!! I have type 4 a/b hair that needs a thicker leave-in conditioner. This one is so creamy and keeps my hair moisturized for days.

Why I Love It: Out of all the conditioners listed, this one has the most slip in my opinion! You don’t need a lot but feel free to use as much as you want. It also has a fresh smell and leaves my hair moisturized for days.

Benefits: This product is a daily moisturizer to encourage length retention and soften your hair for better manageability.

Why I Love It: If you noticed this is the second Mielle Organics product on the list. That’s because I LOVE their products. This moisturizer is perfect for thick hair because it extra creamy. Even though it says moisture milk, it also works great as a leave-in!
